It was really windy when I visited the lupines near Skógafoss, so I actually much preferred this other spot, especially since no one else was around.

Be warned, there were A LOT of bugs at both locations! I noticed locals & tour guides had bug nets over their faces to be prepared.

Parc Güell at sunset 😍

Parc Güell is probably Barcelona’s best known attraction after La Sagrada Familia, and normally I would make sure to visit a popular place like this at sunrise, BUT time/schedule constraints didn’t allow for that.

Not to mention that Parc Güell technically doesn’t open until 9:30am. 🫣 You can buy tickets for as early as 9am though, so this would be a great time to come!

Although online it says it’s only open until 7:30pm, this is really just the last entrance time and I was told that you can stay until 10pm. The crowds started to leave shortly after the parks official hours, and by 8:30pm it was practically empty, which is crazy because there’s no better place in the city to watch the sunset! 🤩

Most of Parc Güell is actually free, but you have to pay to access the Serpentine Bench, aka the most famous spot.

Tickets are 10 euros. They will cost more if you want a guided tour or included admission to the Gaudí House Museum.

$Why you should spend at least a day in the Highlands 👇🏻 Pretty much everyone that visits Iceland does at least a fraction of the Ring Road, but for a really unique experience, veer off the Ring Road and adventure into the Highlands! Iceland has something called F Roads, which means you need 4x4 to drive on them. Most F Roads, including entrance to the Highlands, are only open during the summer months - so it’s the perfect time for some exploring! You can spend a few days camping out in the Highlands, or you can book a day trip from Reykjavik for just a small taste of what’s out there. I saw mountains, valleys, volcanic craters, hot springs, lupines, waterfalls, and so much more! The Highlands are getting more popular, so now you have to make a reservation in advance if you’re not on a pre-booked tour. How COOL is this⁉️

Scuba diving in the Silfra Fissure was one of my favorite things I did in Iceland! It’s located just 40 minutes from Reykjavik in Thingvellir National Park which is one of the popular stops along Iceland’s famous Ring Road.

This is a volcanic crack located between 2 tectonic plates rifting apart, so you can say you’re swimming between continents! The water is some of the clearest on Earth, since it’s melted from glaciers and then filtered through a lava rock system. I still can’t get over just how clear it was (up to 100m visibility!) 😳

You can snorkel, free dive, or scuba here at any time of year since the water remains at 35-39 degrees Fahrenheit or 2-4 degrees Celsius all year round, which is COLD. 🥶

But since the water is so cold and there’s no marine life, this is a pretty short dive (usually around 35 minutes), but it was SO worth it! 🤩

And don’t worry, the crack is actually getting wider, not closer together. So you don’t have to worry about it closing in on you. 😅

I went with @dive.is & they made me feel super safe, comfortable, and provided me with all the gear I needed to stay warm! My guide Diogo also did a great job taking these videos of me & taking some pictures, too!

The best day trip from Barcelona👇🏻

✨MONTSERRAT✨

Montserrat is only about an hour away from Barcelona. You can take a train, drive yourself or book a tour through Viator or Get Your Guide like I did. Most of these tours are only half day tours though which did feel a little rushed.

📍This viewpoint is called St. Michael’s Cross, and it’s about a 25 minute walk from the main square.

Here are some other things to do in Montserrat:
- Ride the Sant Joan Funicular
- Montserrat Monastery
- Black Madonna statue inside the Basilica
- Hiking trails
- Ride the Funicular de la Santa Cova (Holy Cave)
- Art Museum
- Local Market

Can you believe this place is so close to Barcelona?!😱
